This course provides the necessary skills and knowledge to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (EWP) with a boom length of 11 metres or more. The course is suited to anyone requiring a high-risk work licence (HRWL) in the class, WP. This includes those working in construction, transport, mining, maintenance, and the energy sector where the use of an EWP is required to safely perform work at height. This course is Nationally Recognised and is licensed as per the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work (HRWL). The HRWL is assessed by a WorkSafe WA Registered Assessor. Note, for licensing purposes, the WP HRWL covers the operation of a telescoping device, hinged device, or articulated device or any combination of these used to support a platform on which personnel, equipment and materials may be elevated to perform work.
This course is designed for those working in operational roles such as tradespeople, trades assistants and riggers.
Candidates must be 18 years or over. 2 forms of ID are required including one form of Photo ID. EWP operation is high risk and requires hand eye coordination, communication skills and good vision. A candidate must have sufficient knowledge of the English language, both written and oral, to safely do work of that class (as per WHS Regulations 2022 r114).
Anyone who is required to become a licenced EWP operator such as riggers, maintainenance personnel, tradespeople and other roles across industry.
Upon successful completion trainees will be issued with a
Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment in TLILIC2005 – licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more)
^ High Risk Work Licence – Class WP (Work Platform) *
^ A Unique Student Identifier (USI) is required before ATC can issue the candidate with a Statement of Attainment.
USI’s are available from www.usi.gov.au.
* the licence is processed and issued by WorkSafe WA. ATC will issue an interim HRWL to competent candidates which is valid for 60 days until the licence is processed.
