This course provides the necessary skills and knowledge to perform dogging work in the construction, mining or other industries where tasks performed require a DG HRWL. Â Dogging consists of the application of slinging techniques to move a load, including the selection and inspection of lifting gear, and the directing of a crane or plant operator in the movement of a load when the load is out of sight of the operator. This course is Nationally Recognised and is licenced as per the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work (HRWL). Â The HRWL is assessed by a WorkSafe WA Registered Assessor. For licensing purposes, dogging work means, applying slinging techniques for the purposes of lifting a load, including selecting the method of lifting (by consideration of the nature of the load, its mass and its centre of gravity) and inspecting lifting gear (for suitability and condition); or directing the operator of a crane or hoist in the movement of a load when the load is out of the view of the operator.
